I have been a prepper for many years and yet I am constantly surprised by the wealth of information I was able to get from your book “The Homesteading Handbook”. Would love to connect with other likeminded people in my area, but in the meantime I relish every bit of the fresh new content you send my way.

So Why Did I Write The Homesteading Handbook?

Because I don’t want there to be a “next time” without food or water.

But more than that: If you want plump, juicy vegetables, fresh water on demand, and succulent all-natural BBQ ribs… then my Homesteading Handbook will show you exactly how to become a self-reliant and impervious master of your own land… free from the incompetence of our pathetic politicians and corporate elitist class…

Even if you’ve never heard of homesteading, have no idea where to start, or have already dabbled into the hobby…

…you’ll find the secrets I reveal in The Homesteading Handbook to be truly life changing.

Besides, most people pay $59.95 for a copy—but if you were lucky enough to run into this message, then consider this the time that fate turned in your favor.

Homesteading is EXPENSIVE. But before you say the deal’s off… what if I told you that you could actually MAKE MONEY from your new homestead.

Meet the Author

Hi, I’m Richard Marshall.

Our Homesteading Adventure began 22 years ago, on a modest ½-acre in rural Illinois. We embraced a life of self-sufficiency, nurturing our little piece of paradise—lovingly calling it The Countryside Homestead.

With a passion for growing and thriving, we explored every possible method, from vertical gardening to hydroponics, backyard beekeeping, and even milking dwarf goats. Our lives were filled with discovery and growth, but we felt the time had come for a new chapter.

So, with our family of four, we broke free from county restrictions and left behind our home and business of 12 years. We set out in search of something greater—our Homestead Happiness.

Starting from scratch may seem daunting, but we embraced the unknown with open arms. Through all the challenges, one thing was crystal clear: we couldn’t have done any of it without God’s guidance and each other’s unwavering support.

Now, we’re inviting you to join us on this thrilling journey—from living off the land to embracing the dream of an off-grid, self-sustained life. Come be part of a community where independence and freedom thrive, where we turn dreams into reality.

We’re glad you’re here. Let’s live this dream together.

When Diane Haydorn came to us, she’d spent years blogging about country life at Hidden Springs Homestead—but her pantry still depended on the grocery store and the “hands-on” skills felt out of reach.

After reading the Day-1 Steps in the Homesteading Handbook, here’s a quick snapshot of who I am. I’m Diane Haydorn—retired teacher, blogger at Hidden Springs Homestead, and a lifelong “grow-your-own” enthusiast. I live on a ½-acre lot where I already run a kitchen garden, but this year’s goal is a full self-reliance setup: eggs, honey, cheese, and every mason jar packed to the rim. I also hope to inspire other families to do the same— even if they start with just two tomato pots on the balcony!

After we showed her how to turn one afternoon on the homestead into real-world wins, she went back home, remade the exact same half-acre she’d always had, and the improvement was dramatic.

Diane had unlocked a skill most people only dream of…

Her shelves now hold rows of kombucha, jams and goat-milk soap that smell like a farm-stand—and yes, even the neighbors ask for extras!

Today it really hit me: I tasted a chicken I’d raised myself and… it tasted exactly like the birds from my grandma’s farm—only this one came straight from my backyard. That’s when I knew the Handbook’s techniques truly work. Thanks, Amber!

But this was only the beginning.

Just got back from the county fair where I sold my entire first batch of homemade soap and strawberry jam. Seeing people line up for something 100 % home-made was thrilling (and the extra cash goes straight into the “new greenhouse” fund). 🎉

Big thanks to the Handbook for helping me get here… Today WYCE 88.1 FM (about 300 miles away) aired a podcast on my intensive garden system. If you listen around 7 min 58 sec, you’ll catch my favorite composting tip. Feeling good! 🌱

All from the same backyard—armed with the exact framework you’ll find inside The Homesteading Handbook.

I reached out to folk singer June Socia and swapped a basket of veggies + two bars of soap for a cozy acoustic set in our barn. It went so well she wants to do it again next month. Thank you, Handbook, for giving me the confidence to pitch the idea!

Just got a DM from a local family asking me to design, plant, and harvest their entire garden this spring. Negotiations in progress… Woo-hoo! More work (and more real food on someone else’s table). 😄

Case Study: Amanda Miller

Amanda Miller just finished our 6-Week Homestead Kickstarter.
Here’s what she told everyone at the closing camp-fire—grab a tissue…

Amanda has now mastered what most backyard growers only wish they could do…

Her homestead turns out baskets of vibrant, pantry-ready produce all year long—even when the Smoky Mountains are covered in snow! From crisp winter carrots to jars of summer-sweet tomato sauce, she no longer worries about grocery prices or empty shelves. Every season, her root cellar stays loaded and her family eats food they grew with their own hands.

Before discovering the Homesteading Handbook, I was struggling with soil that would always dry out and poor yields in the summer heat. The detailed chapter on raised‑bed construction and drip‑irrigation techniques completely changed my approach. Last season, I harvested three times more tomatoes and peppers than ever before, all organically grown—enough to freeze and can for my family and still sell a dozen pints at the farmers market. I’ve now cut nearly $150 off my monthly grocery bill, and my kids actually help me weed and water each morning. This book didn’t just teach me to grow food—it taught me to reclaim our backyard as a true source of health and community.

With just 2,000 ft² of backyard space, I felt limited—until the Handbook’s “vertical gardening” and “square‑foot planning” sections gave me a whole new perspective. I now rotate lettuces, tomatoes, and herbs through custom trellises that fit next to my patio, and by using the winter‑protection tips, I’ve harvested fresh greens every month of the year. Neighbors stop by asking for cuttings, and I held my first “herb‑growing” mini‑workshop last fall. The step‑by‑step photos and easy‑to‑follow planting calendar made it so simple—even a complete novice like me could succeed right away

I’d always wanted backyard chickens but was intimidated by coop design, feed formulas, and egg safety. The Handbook breaks down each requirement—site selection, predator‑proofing, homemade feed mixes—into manageable modules. In under a weekend, I built a secure 4‑hen coop, and now I collect five to six fresh eggs every morning, with yolks so rich my breakfast omelets taste like restaurant‑quality fare. My neighbors line up for surplus eggs, and I honestly feel more connected to our food and the seasons. This BLUEPRINT gave me confidence I never thought possible.

As a small‑farm nurse, I worried about rising costs of over‑the‑counter remedies. The Handbook’s chapter on natural backyard medicines was a revelation: I distilled my own calendula salve, made echinacea tinctures, and bottled honey infused with local herbs. Over the past six months, our family has reduced pharmacy trips by 40 percent, and my daughter even uses our homemade cough syrup instead of store brands. Seeing my children reach for a remedy I grew and crafted myself has been incredibly empowering—and it all started with this one book.

Frequent summer outages had me fretting over my aquaponics system and garden lights. The off‑grid solar energy chapter walked me through panel sizing, battery storage options, and simple wiring diagrams—no electrician needed. Now my setup powers LED grow lights, a water pump, and even charges my tools, keeping everything running smoothly even during multi‑day blackouts. On top of that, my electric bill dropped 25 percent last quarter. The confidence I have knowing my homestead is energy‑resilient is priceless, and I owe it all to the clear, hands‑on instructions in this Handbook.
